I found this one to be the strangest of all. Aside from the mention of Priscilla Owens (remember her? seems like a big name-dropping tactic to me), the general tone of the letter is one that advocates regulations made by judges over ones passed by legislatures. Yet the current Bush administration position is that judges shouldn't make laws, but merely enforce existing ones. Now the Bush adminsitration wants to appoint to the US Supreme Court someone whose limited writings show her in favor of judicial supremacy? Something smells rotten here.
